Do you have a question about this home or the local area?

Cosy, contemporary and oozing charm, this delightful cottage has something for everyone. Nestled on the edge of the Chiltern Hills AONB, we think it's the perfect base for exploring, especially with Henley-on-Thames (fifteen minutes), Reading (five minutes) and Oxford (forty-five minutes) all within driving distance. A little closer to home, you'll find miles of rolling countryside to roam on foot or by bike, plus golfing and horseback riding are popular, too. Make sure to swing by the village pub (it's a ten-minute walk away) and treat yourself to a delicious meal and refreshing pint – it's the ideal way to end the evening. Or, if you prefer to take things slow, idle away cloudless afternoons in the private garden. Flanked by blooms, greenery and tall trees, it's a peaceful place to unwind with a cup of tea or a glass of wine – when the sun goes down, gather around the fire pit as the stars twinkle overhead. Inside, high vaulted ceilings, generously-sized windows and a crisp white colour scheme give the whole place a laid-back Scandinavian feel. It's utterly inviting – we can already picture ourselves sprawled out on the sumptuous sofas, watching a film on the TV (Netflix and Sky are included) and reading books by the crackling fire. While home chefs will adore rustling up meals on the AGA cooker, the grand family bathroom has to be our favourite spot – think lavish rainfall shower, lush free-standing bathtub and skylights flooding the whole room with sunshine.

About Reading

Rich in history, Reading was a place of pilgrimage in medieval times – its 12th-century abbey is now an atmospheric ruin beside Forbury Gardens. While in 1895, Oscar Wilde was imprisoned in the county jail here and the experience drove him to write The Ballad of Reading Gaol. Known more these days for its annual Reading Festival, this vibrant town attracts nearly 100,000 music lovers every August to worship...
